Contact map of protein plays an extremely important role in the study of protein structures. Combinatorially, protein contact maps can be seen as generalization of RNA secondary structures. However, counting protein contact maps is much more difficult than that of RNA secondary structures due to the significant higher vertex degree. In this talk, we will formulate the study of protein contact maps in the framework of combinatorics, like what has been done in the field of RNA secondary structures, and introduce previous and future works of the Nankai Research Group of Combinatorics and Computational Biology.

郭強(qiáng)輝,2009年博士畢業(yè)于南開大學(xué)組合數(shù)學(xué)中心,現(xiàn)為南開大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)科學(xué)學(xué)院副教授,曾任天津市數(shù)學(xué)會(huì)第十三屆理事會(huì)理事。主要研究方向是組合數(shù)學(xué)與計(jì)算生物學(xué),近年來在運(yùn)用組合方法研究蛋白質(zhì)接觸圖結(jié)構(gòu)方面做出了一系列成果,推廣了計(jì)算生物學(xué)奠基人Waterman教授關(guān)于RNA二級(jí)結(jié)構(gòu)的經(jīng)典計(jì)數(shù)工作,部分解決了計(jì)算生物學(xué)家Istrail教授提出的關(guān)于蛋白質(zhì)接觸圖計(jì)數(shù)的公開問題。相關(guān)10余篇論文發(fā)表在《Advances in Applied Mathematics》《Journal of Computational Biology》《Bulletin of Mathematical Biology》等應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)和計(jì)算生物學(xué)領(lǐng)域重要雜志。主持國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金1項(xiàng),教育部產(chǎn)學(xué)合作協(xié)同育人項(xiàng)目1項(xiàng),南開大學(xué)研究生課程思政示范課項(xiàng)目1項(xiàng)。主編教材5部,擁有發(fā)明專利2項(xiàng),軟件著作權(quán)4項(xiàng)。曾獲南開大學(xué)優(yōu)秀碩士學(xué)位論文指導(dǎo)教師及南開大學(xué)研究生教學(xué)成果特等獎(jiǎng)。
